Refunds
Refund & Cancellation Policy
A fair framework for professional-service fees, advances, cancellations, external charges and payment corrections.Effective 28 September 2026
This general policy is applied together with the accepted quotation, proposal, engagement or other agreed service terms and applicable Sri Lankan law. It does not remove a consumer or client right that cannot lawfully be restricted.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to requests to cancel an M M service or seek repayment of amounts paid to M. M. Management Services (Private) Limited. Because professional services may involve time already spent, reserved resources, completed deliverables and external statutory or third-party charges, eligibility depends on the circumstances of the engagement rather than a blanket refundable or non-refundable label.
2. Before work begins
If a client asks to cancel before substantive professional work has begun, M M will review amounts paid against the agreed engagement, any work already undertaken, resources reasonably committed and non-recoverable external costs. Where an amount remains properly refundable, it may be returned after reasonable verification.
3. Work already commenced or completed
Professional fees attributable to work properly performed are generally earned to the extent of that work, subject to the engagement and applicable law. A cancellation does not automatically reverse professional time, analysis, document preparation, coordination, meetings, submissions or other work already undertaken. If only part of the agreed work has been performed, M M may assess the completed portion and any properly refundable balance on the evidence available.
4. Advances and deposits
An advance or deposit is accounted for according to the relevant quotation or engagement and the work or costs to which it has been applied. Calling a payment an advance or deposit does not by itself determine whether every part is refundable. M M will distinguish amounts applied to professional work, amounts committed to external costs and any unapplied balance when reviewing a request.
5. Government, statutory and third-party charges
Registry, tax-authority, BOI, licence, certification, bank, courier, payment-provider, professional or other government, statutory and third-party charges are separate from M M professional fees unless expressly stated otherwise. Once such an amount has been paid, submitted or irrevocably committed to the relevant third party, its refundability is normally governed by that party's rules and applicable law. M M will not promise recovery of an external charge that the relevant authority or provider does not return.
6. Filing or authority outcomes
A refund is not automatically due merely because a registry, tax authority, BOI, bank, auditor, government body or other independent party delays, rejects, queries or decides a matter differently from what a client expected, where M M has properly performed the agreed service. This does not limit any remedy that may apply where the service itself fails to meet an applicable contractual or legal obligation.
7. Duplicate, excess or incorrect payments
Where M M verifies that a payment was duplicated, made in excess, credited to the wrong M M invoice or otherwise received in error, the amount not properly due may be corrected, credited or refunded as appropriate. We may request reasonable transaction evidence and instructions before processing the correction.
8. Changes in scope
If a client changes, pauses or reduces an engagement, M M may reconcile the original payment against work completed, approved work in progress, commitments already made and any revised scope. A credit, revised invoice or refund may be used where appropriate rather than treating every scope change as a full cancellation.
9. How to request a review
A refund or cancellation request should identify the client or company, relevant service or invoice, payment details, reason for the request and supporting information. Requests may be sent to support@mmmservices.online. M M may seek further information needed to verify the payer, authority to make the request, work status and relevant transaction.
10. Review and decision
M M will assess requests individually and reasonably against the engagement, payment records, work evidence, external commitments and applicable requirements. We do not publish an artificial fixed approval period where the facts or third-party verification may differ. A decision should explain the practical treatment of the amount where appropriate.
11. Approved refunds
Where a refund is approved, M M will ordinarily seek to return it through the original payment method or another lawful and reasonably practicable method after necessary verification. Banking, payment-provider or intermediary processing times may be outside M M's control.
12. Statutory and consumer rights
Nothing in this Policy excludes or restricts a refund, compensation, redress or other right that applies under Sri Lankan law and cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted. Engagement-specific terms are interpreted subject to that same principle.
